Alexander Wang’s Collaboration with H&M

photo 1 (4)

Yes the rumors are true! The phenomenal Designer, Alexander Wang is collaborating with the Swedish fashion forward company H&M. The breaking news was announced Saturday, midnight EST to the designer’s Instagram with a video showing a countdown to “Wang X HM” on a basketball scoreboard. The time was stopped at 11:06, which most likely means the collection will be released and hitting the stores November 6, 2014. Even though this is Wang’s first major collaboration, the designer has been the creative director of Balenciaga since 2012. Therefore I’m expecting nothing but breathtaking designer pieces to be created. This is all coming together and making sense why the designer is throwing a secret joint soiree with H&M which is taking place next to H&M’s annual invite only bash at Coachella. Great way to celebrate! Mark your calendars because this collection is one you don’t want to miss.

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week “BERLIN” Autumn/Winter 2014

photo (1) Bitter but very sweet feeling, today is the last day for Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week ‘BERLIN’ (Autumn/Winter 2014: January 14-17).  With a complicity of various designers and models, a range of collections were mainly focusing on layers and silhouettes this year. Each designer owned “The Look” and delivered a fashion forward statement with each and every garment of clothing.

image (2)

Designers such as Julian Zigerli, Miranda Konstantinidou, Patrick Mohr, and Riani whose vibrant colors lit the room, giving the models twinkles in their eyes as they strut the runway. With Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week ‘New York’ (Fall/Winter 2014) only two weeks away, I hope they’re fully prepared and bringing their A-Game! It’s going to be very interesting to see the comparison between the too. I’m very excited and can’t wait to see what the Fashion World has prepared for us these next couple of weeks. Stay tuned in!!!!

Fashion Friday Spotlight: Ralph Lauren prepares for The Winter 2014 Olympics with a Twist

With the 2014 Winter Olympics being less than a month away, Team USA is preparing their opening ceremony with a twist this year. Just to give you a quick backstory, Ralph Lauren has been outfitting the USA Olympic Team since 2008. But in 2012 the Legendary fashion label stumbled across conflict when Congress discovered that several of the uniforms were actually ‘Made in China’ and not ‘Made in the USA’.

“It was hard to come by facilities that could create the quantity and quality needed for the Olympic uniforms and the versions that will be sold to the public,” he said. The AP called the process “a lesson in the state of American manufacturing.” stated by David Lauren, VP of advertising, marketing and corporate communications.

Team USA will now wear the ‘Made in the  USA’ label. every article of clothing made by Ralph Lauren for the USA Winter Olympics athletes in Sochi, including their opening and closing ceremony uniforms. Their Olympic Village gear has been made by domestic craftsman and manufacturers.

“As an Official Outfitter of Team USA, Ralph Lauren is proud to unveil the official Closing Ceremony parade uniforms.” enclosed by David Lauren during ‘The Today Show’ October 2013.
